Troubleshooting
The FortiClient software should start automatically when logging on. If the FortiClient software is not running, open the Application menu, search for FortiClient and click the FortiClient application icon to start the FortiClient software.

Shutting down the FortiClient requires administrative access. To shut down the FortiClient click on the icon in the System Tray, select shutdown from the context menu, and enter the administrative credentials.

After FortiClient software installation completes, you can connect FortiClient to the Management server. After FortiClient Telemetry connects, FortiClient receives an endpoint policy from from the Management server. A system tray bubble message displays once the download is complete. The endpoint policy contain an endpoint remote access profile as well as a FortiClient license.
If your FortiClient does not automatically connect to the Management Server, open the FortiClient Console, on the Zero Trust Telemetry tab, manually enter the Management Server address fortiems.lanecc.edu and click the "Connect" button. The display status should change to "Connected"
If the FortiClient console is not open, you can open it by clicking on the FortiClient icon in the System Tray (usually located at the top right of the screen) and clicking “Open FortiClient Console" on the pop-up menu.

Click on the "Remote Access" tab and then the "Connect" button.

A new browser window will open to the login page. Enter your LCC email address and click next or select a stored login account.
Enter your password and click the "Sign In" button.

Complete any Multi Factor Authentication requirements.

If the login is successful you will see the authentication complete page. At this point you may close the browser or switch back to the FortiClient Console.

After a few seconds the FortiClient console should show the VPN connection status as up, display your local VPN tunnel address, connection time, and bytes transmitted through the connection.

The ForitClient VPN can be disconnected by either
- clicking on the Disconnect button on the FortiClient Console.

- or by clicking on the FortiClient icon in System Tray and then clicking on “Disconnect LCC-VPN” from the pop-up menu.
