Using Print Deploy to install campus printers on macOS or Windows computers

We have a new print management tool starting Fall 2023 called PaperCut Print Deploy.

1. Use the Print Deploy app to install departmental printers anywhere on campus. While on campus connected to LCC Wifi or a wired network port, or from home over a VPN, you can click on the green Print Deploy button in your top right Menu Bar on macOS and in the bottom right System Tray on Windows.

2. Select "View my Printers".  After the app opens click on the left pane and select "Add printers."  Either select from the list or use the search bar on the top right to find your departmental printer.  Printers names include the building and room numbers followed by the printer type. For example, entering "P00-4" would shorten the list to those on the 4th floor of the Center building.  The last part of the printer name refers to the model of printer.  Typically anything that has a HP is a HP printer, BH or KM is a Konica Minolta, KY is a Kyocera, X is for Xerox.  On many printers the name of the printer that matches what you want to install is on a white label.

You may find printers already installed on your computer and displayed in the Print Deploy client that are administrativly installed.  These are automated installs done according to your department and physical computer location.  You will typically not be able to remove these.  If you can remove them they will be reinstalled automatically.  If you wish to have these printers removed for any reason please contact the IT Helpdesk by email at "helpdesk@lanecc.edu" or by phone at 541-463-4444.
