Wireless Network

LCC WiFi

LCC WiFi is the primary wireless network for both staff and students on the main campus, downtown, Cottage Grove, Florence campuses, and the Aviation Academy. LCC WiFi provides different access levels based on the user. Students will be able to access the Internet and various Lane services such as myLane. Staff will be able to access additional services such as printing and Banner.

LCC WiFi Login

Employees:
For employees to login into LCC WiFi, the login is their lastname first initial and their express lane password.

Students:
For students, the login would use their L number and password used to access myLane.

Note: Initial setup of LCC WiFi is more involved than LCC Guest, but once done the device will automatically re-connect for as long as the login remains valid.

For assistance with LCC WiFi, contact the Employee Help Desk or Student Help Desk.

LCC Guest

LCC Guest users are logged in automatically when they connect to the guest network. Be aware that this is much like any other public open network and will not allow you to access your drives, printing or Banner.

For assistance with LCC Guest, contact the Employee Help Desk or Student Help Desk.

Logout

Devices are automatically logged out of the system after a period of inactivity or when the device is suspended or shut down, reconnection is automatic.

Security

Users of LCC wireless networks must abide by the Lane Technology Use Rights and Responsibilities Policy and Student Rights and Conduct.

It is your responsibility to keep your Lane User ID and password secure. WiFi usage is logged and you are accountable for network and Internet activity that was accessed using your account.

Users are responsible for their personal computer hardware and software and for their own computer security when using the LCC Guest. The LCC Guest is not a protected network. Users should take all reasonable precautions such as anti-virus/anti-spyware software and personal firewall software.

LCC Guest is a shared network and any information transmitted is NOT encrypted by the network. Secure websites (https, SSL) may provide this service for users, neither LCC Guest nor the Internet are secure networks and should be used with appropriate safeguards.
