LCC Microsoft Account Access & Password Management

This article outlines how your Lane Community College Microsoft account is managed and how to troubleshoot common login issues.


1. Your LCC Microsoft Account

All active employees and students at Lane Community College are provided with a Microsoft account. This account grants you access to various college applications and services.

  • Password Synchronization: Your Microsoft account password is always synchronized with your MyLane password. Changing your Microsoft password outside of MyLane will cause synchronization issues. 
  • Synchronization Mechanism: This synchronization occurs from Lane Community College's on-premise Active Directory directly to the Microsoft Cloud.

2. Troubleshooting Microsoft Account Login Issues

If you encounter any difficulties logging into your Microsoft account, the solution is to manage your MyLane password.

  • Password Reset Procedure: Simply reset your password in the MyLane portal.
  • Synchronization Time: After you reset your MyLane password, the change will typically sync to your Microsoft account within 10 minutes or less.
  • Reusing Existing Password: If you do not wish to set a new password, you have the option to re-enter your existing password during the MyLane password reset process. This will re-synchronize your credentials and often resolve login issues.
