Start a Google Video Call

Use the following instructions to start a video call in Google Chat on Desktop, or Google Meet on mobile.

Use the following instructions to start a video call in Google Chat on Desktop, or Google Meet on mobile.

[Desktop]

1. Go to the website https://chat.google.com/
2. Log in using your Lane email address if prompted.
3. Click on an existing chat using the column on left, or start a new chat using the "New Chat" button on the upper left corner of the web page.
4. Click the video button in the upper right
   
   

 

[Mobile]

1. Open the Google Meet app
2. Sign in to the app using your Lane email address if prompted.
3. Tap the New button to start a new video call
4. Select a user to start a one-on-one call, or tap Group Call to invite multiple people.
5. If prompted, tap Allow to enable video, audio, and nearby device permissions
6. Tap Call to start the call.
