Some common Windows 11 settings

1. Right click on some empty space on the taskbar (usually at the bottom of the screen) & choose "Taskbar Settings"

2. In the "Taskbar items" area choose if you want the 3 items displayed or not

-Search: You can minimze the search bar or remove it completely (you can do the same search directly from the start menu)

-Task View: Lets you see all open windows at a glance (Alt+Tab on your keyboard does the same thing)

-Widgets: This opens the Widgets board (weather, stocks, news)

3. Click on Other System tray icons to expand it

-Here you can choose to show specific icons or leave them hidden under the Up arrow

-After selecting the icons you always want to see if you don't want to show the others/hidden icons, turn off the top "Hidden icon menu)-

--Keep in mind some programs when updated will make you turn the icon back on & if the hidden icon menu is off, you will not see the new icon until you go through this KB again

4. Click the "Taskbar behaviors" to expand the menu

-Taskbar Alignment: Move the star menu and your icons to the left or keep them in the center

-Auto hide the taskbar when not moused over it

-Show Badges on taskbar apps: this is like notification numbers on your phone apps

-Show flashing on taskbar apps: when task is not active & something new happens on the app, it will flash
-Show my taskbar on all displays: this will have the taskbar on all of your monitors (if using multiple monitors

Close the settings window by using the upper right Red X

NOTE: These settings are a personal preference and not required. They are also a per user setting so they will not effect anyone else that logs into your computer.
