How to use the Copier on the Xerox Printers in the Learning Commons


PLEASE NOTE:  Copying and scanning cost nothing. So if you need to make multiple copies of a printed document, print one copy then scan or copy the rest.

Making Copies:

    1. If the screen is black, press Energy Saver, the green button in the top right hand corner, to turn on the machine.

    2. Select Alternate Login, in the top right corner of the screen, and log in with your L number and password.

    3. Select Home Screen button on the top left corner of the printer.

    4. Select Copy.

At this point, the screen should look like this:

 

    5. Select the paper size.
  • Select the correct paper size (usually 8 1/2 x 11). Available paper sizes are 8 1/2 x 11, 8 1/2 x 14 and 11 x 17.  
    6a. If the sheet is one sided, place it face-down on glass in the upper left corner.
  • Make sure that if you are wanting to make a copy of an 8.5x11" sheet that the 8.5" side is aligned with the top edge of the glass and the 11.5" side is aligned with the left edge.
Double check that the screen looks like this: 


     6b. If the sheet is two sided, place the document into the feeder on the top of the machine.
  • If you want to copy multiple pages at once, place the document face up in the order you would like it to be scanned.
  • If you are printing double-sided, be sure to select either 2 to 1 sided printing to condense the images onto one side or 2 to 2 sided printing to make an exact copy.
  • You can also print two sided the same way you print one sided: scan the first page by pressing start and then flip over the paper and press start again.
The document feeder looks like this:

 

     7. Select the amount of copies you want to create. 
  • Go to Job Assembly from the options at the top of the screen.
  • Tap Quantity... 
  • Either tap the up and down arrows or manually enter the amount of copies you want to make.


     8. Push the green start button.
     9. When you are finished using the copy machine, push the Log In/Out button to log out.

Your account will be automatically charged for the print job.
