WiFi Log In Instructions - LCC Guest


How to log in to LCC Guest WiFi:
   
Log In From a Laptop

  • Select LCC Guest from your list of available WiFi networks.
  • Open a browser.
    • Microsoft Edge (recommended)
    • Safari (recommended)
    • Internet Explorer:
      • The screen will state that there is a problem with the website’s security certificate.
      • Click on the line that says "Continue to this website (not recommended)."
    • Chrome:
      • Click on Advanced at the left of the screen that comes up.
      • Look for a link says "Proceed to 1.1.1.1 (unsafe)" or "Proceed to account.google.com (unsafe)."
      • If you don’t see the link, Chrome has blocked the website, so choose another browser.
    • Firefox: 
      • If the LCC Guest WiFi Sign On Portal does not automatically open: 
      • Click on Advanced at the right side of the screen.
      • On the next screen, click on Add Exception at the bottom of the screen
      • The next screen requires you to press Confirm Security Exception
      • Sometimes a fourth screen will appear with an automatic block, press allow
  •  Create your Guest Login account.
    • You should now see a login screen asking for user name and password.
    • Click on the link to "Create A Guest Account" under "Sign On."
    • On the screen that appears, enter the following information:
      • First name
      • Last name
      • Phone Number or Email Address (you do not have to provide both)
      • Service Provider
    • Press Enter.
  • A screen will appear with your user name and password for Guest WiFi Login.
  • Log in using this user name and password.
  • You now have internet access!  
  • A copy of the user name and password will be sent to your email and/or phone number depending on which you used setting up your guest account.
Each account is active for 14 days, after the 14 day period you are required to re-create the account. 

If a LCC Guest user is prompted to reset their password multiple times during the 14-day period, this is abnormal behavior and should be reported to the Student Help Desk.


*Note: You will have to log in every time you connect*

Log In From a Phone

  • Select LCC Guest from your device's list of available WiFi networks.
  • You will need to "Verify" your connection to register a guest account, This process is different on Each device/browser: Chrome's mobile browser is confirmed to not work.
    • Depending on your device, the Verify Now button may be available from a swipe down menu, a pop up in your browser when you search for a web page, or even a link on a warning page when you try to browse.
  • You may now enter username and password provided to you ~OR~ click on the "Create A Guest Account" link in the verification/sign on portal.
  • Create your Guest Login account.
    • You should now see a login screen asking for user name and password.
    • Click on the link to "Create A Guest Account" under "Sign On."
    • On the screen that appears, enter the following information:
      • First name
      • Last name
      • Phone Number or Email Address (you do not have to provide both)
      • Service Provider
    • Press Register
    • A screen will appear with your user name and password for Guest WiFi Login.
    • Log in using this user name and password.
    • You now have internet access.  
    • A copy of the user name and password will be sent to your email and/or phone number depending on which you used setting up your guest account.
  • Follow the steps and login with your new guest account
  •  You now have internet access!
*Note: You will have to log in every time you connect*

If you are a student/staff, you should use "LCC WiFi" with your L # and myLane Password; you won't have to register.


Untrusted security certificate!

If you get a pop up similar to the one pictured below, do not worry!

This happens because your device recognizes that the internet page you were trying to access is not the page where you arrived; the LCC Guest WiFi network redirected you to the WiFi login page instead.

We advise that you press the OK button, and proceed to navigate the internet.
