Opening and Exporting Files in Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop


From within Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign:

Opening

  1. In the top left hand corner, click on File.
  2. From the drop down menu click Open.
  3. Browse and choose the file you want to work with.
  4. Click Open or double click on the file.

  *Some programs may not open all file types (example: Photoshop will open PDFs but will not open .indd, .doc or .docx files).

Exporting

  1. In the top left hand corner, click on File.
  2. Hover over Export, another drop down menu will appear.
    1. If you are using Illustrator or InDesign click Export and skip to step 4.
  3. Click Export As...
  4. Choose desired format (PNG, GIF, PDF, etc.)
  5. Alter any other settings for exporting.
  6. Click Export and allow it to transfer.
