This article will guide you through the basic steps to enroll at Lane Community College.

1. You will need to Apply for Admission to Lane Community College
Once you click on this link you will be directed to this page:
Fill out the application and submit it. You will then need to wait until you get a confirmation email (can take up to 2-4 weeks) that you have been accepted to the college and it will include your L number.
You should also receive a separate email that will include a temporary password. This password will be used to access and set up your myLane account.
2. Set up your myLane account
You will need to go to the myLane Login Page.
Enter your L number
COPY & PASTE the temporary password from your email
You will then be prompted to create a new password
Paste your temporary password into "Old Password" box
Enter your new password into the following 2 boxes (make sure password is between 12-16 characters, no longer than 16 or it will not work)
Click to save the new password
Now that you have access to myLane, we strongly recommend setting up security questions to retrieve your password as this is the easiest way to regain access to myLane if you forget your password.

3. Complete New Student Information Session (NSIS)
The NSIS is the online version of an orientation and will give you basic information about the college, classes, resources and your rights as a student.

4. Take placement tests
You will need to take the writing and math placement tests to determine which level of these classes you will register for.

Make sure that you write down or print out the confirmation date for your test.
5. Start Right Advising Session
As a new or returning student you will need to attend an advising session. This will either be done online or in person.
As a new student you are given 2 options:
Schedule an in-person session on the main campus
Take the Online version if you qualify
As a returning student you will need to see an advisor during drop in hours
On this page each area of study has a contact email as well as drop in advising hours listed. Please make sure you visit the office to sign up for a time; you can always email the department for more information or specific hours for specific advisors.
After completing all of the above you will not be cleared to register. In order to do this you will need to login to myLane ; click on "myEnrollment" tab; look in the Registration tools box and click "Registration".
