Why Can't I See The HTML Editor?

Updated 7/17/2012

Moodle provides a full array of HTML editing and formatting features - commonly referred to as a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor (shown below).

If you are not seeing the HTML editor, it could be because of several reasons:

1. Browser Compatibility - Firefox is the recommended browser to use with Moodle. Both Google Chrome and Apple Safari have compatibility issues which break the HTML editor functionality and return the following errors, respectively.

2. If you are using a compatible browser and you're still not seeing the HTML editor it's likely that you have this feature disabled in your Moodle profile. To enable the HTML editor go to your Profile > Edit Profile tab > When editing text > Use HTML editor (some browsers only) > Update Profile
