Student and Staff Access Network (SSAN)

Information About the Lane SSAN

The Lane Student and Staff Access Network, or SSAN, provides Internet access to any student who has paid the Technology fee for the current term and to current employees of the college. Internet access is provided by wired and wireless access points in common areas around the campus. Lane services such as Expresslane, Netstorage and Groupwise webmail are available using the SSAN, but printing and native Banner are not.

To access the Internet using the SSAN you must abide by the Lane Appropriate Use Policy and Student Code of Conduct. Access to the SSAN is available beginning the first day of the current term through the last day of the term for students who pay the Technology fee. Note: All twelve weeks of the summer term are treated as one term, access will begin on June 20th. Anyone paid as an employee of the college in the last 6 months will also have access.

Lane Community College and the Information Technology department supports the campus network (including Lane provided computers) and high-speed Internet access. SSAN users are responsible for their personal computer hardware and software. Students needing assistance with using the SSAN, please see the Student Help Desk website for more information.

Important note: It is your responsibility to keep your L number (Lane's User ID) and PIN number secure. SSAN usage is logged and you are accountable for network and Internet activity that was accessed using your account information.
