What will happen?
- You will be prompted to change your PIN when you log into MyLane or ExpressLane
- You will not be able to log in until you change your pin
- The new pin must be between 12 and 16 characters (numbers and letters) in length
- You may also be asked to update your security questions
When will it happen?
- The first time you log into MyLane or ExpressLane after 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22
- Please don't try to change your pin to more than 6 digits until that time
What should I do?
- Wait until you need to access MyLane to change your PIN; there is no time limit
- Complete any immediate work in Moodle or computer labs before changing your PIN
- When you do need to log into MyLane, follow the prompts to change your PIN and set up your security questions
Why are we doing this? [More Info]
- To provide better security for your student records
- To enable secure, self-service pin changes
- So that we won't have to require periodic PIN changes
What accounts are affected?
- All login accounts with L# UserId:
MyLane/ExpressLane, Moodle, Lane WIFI, Student Lab Computers, & Staff Macs
- NOT accounts with Lastnamefirstinitial UserId or Emailaddress UserId
How will my new MyLane pin work in the other accounts?
- Your new MyLane/ExpressLane pin will propagate to the other accounts within an hour
- Until then, you will still be able to log onto the other systems with your old 6-digit pin
- Logging into Moodle or other L# login accounts will NOT trigger the PIN change
